Experiencing Scotland

A very important part of a visit to Scotland is soaking up the history and atmosphere of this proud and vibrant nation. St Andrew's College Summer Schools Ltd, through years of experience, tries to ensure that our visitors experience as much as is possible of the culture and mystery of Scotland.

We therefore ensure that students see such special places as:

  • The historic and beautiful City of Edinburgh, the Capital of Scotland.
  • The vibrant and 'New' Glasgow, City of Culture.
  • Stirling, a City of Mystery, the Castle and the Wallace Monument.
  • The Town of St Andrews, 'The Home of Golf', not to be missed.
  • Loch Lomond and The Trossachs, the heart and soul of Scotland.

In addition to these excursions there are a variety of walks and tours organised at each of our centres to local places of interest.

Students may also get to see how "Scotch" is made! The experience of a traditional Highland Games is a colourful and memorable one and the atmosphere of a Scottish Ceilidh, is quite special. Students will be able to taste the famous "Haggis" and lots of fun, laughter and a tremendous life experience are assured.

The aim of our staff, at all times, is to ensure that our visitors enjoy every aspect of Scotland from the moment we meet you at the airport until we wave goodbye as you return home. The safety and security of our visitors is of critical importance and please rest assured that the safety and happiness of our students is our priority during their stay with us in Scotland.

Many people ask to visit Loch Ness with a hope of seeing 'The Monster'. We cannot include this visit in our normal extra curricular activities because of costs. However, if sufficient numbers are interested a visit can be arranged but at additional cost. Leaders should discuss this request with our Director of Operations during the course.
