How is the teaching delivered?
Many years experience of English language courses has enabled St Andrew's College Summer Schools to develop a proven process that includes:
  • A standard Placement Test at the start of the course. Studying at the right level is essential and the Test ensures that students are placed in a class with others of similar ability.
  • 15 hours of classes a week. Classes are held in the mornings leaving the rest of the day to practice what has been learnt.
  • Classes are limited to 15 students ensuring optimum learning conditions and maximum progress.
  • Successful students are awarded a 'Certificate of Completion' detailing achievements and skill levels.
Students planning to sit the Cambridge University Preliminary English Test or the First Certificate in English in their own country can opt for an extra study option*. This consists of an intensive preparation course of 4 hours extra a week over 2 afternoons. These classes are restricted to a maximum of 10 students.

*An extra charge applies.

Students need to pass a Special Placement Test to demonstrate their suitability for this extra study option. Please state on your application form if you are interested in this option.
