Recreation
There is a wide and varied sports and recreation programme on offer at St Andrew's College Summer Schools to suit all ages and abilities.

Sports and recreation and extra curricular activities take place in the afternoons and evenings and cover a broad spectrum of challenging and fun pursuits. These are creatively planned, developed, and supervised by fully qualified teachers and Physical Education specialists.

Sporting Activities
Sports on offer include:
  • Football (both indoor and outdoor).
  • Volleyball.
  • Basketball (and mini basketball for younger students).
  • Soft tennis.
  • Mini Hockey (very popular with younger students).
  • Badminton.
Adding to the fun, competitions and inter-house/class championships are organised throughout each course with all students encouraged to take part.

Swimming at the local leisure centre can be organised depending on demand and is included in the fees. Other specialist sports such as golf, bowling and skating [ice or roller], are also on offer at an additional charge.

Evening Activities
Evening activities commence every evening at 8.00pm and go on until 11.00pm. The Disco Room, Leisure and Shop areas become the favourite meeting places for students to relax, meet friends from different cultures and of course practice their English.

Evening Activities include:
  • Video and Film presentations.
  • Quiz Nights.
  • Bingo.
  • Disco Dance Nights.
  • Treasure Hunts.
  • Karaoke.
Traditional Scottish Dancing is highlighted as a special activity and teaching is undertaken by the staff. This is in preparation for the "Grand Finale" to every course, the traditional Scottish 'Ceilidh'!
