Lessons

There are typically 10-12 lessons per week. Each lesson lasts 1 hour 30 minutes. Breaks are scheduled between lessons.*

Classes have a maximum 18 students per class and take place in modern classrooms equipped with digital resources.

Students complete the grammar and listening sections of the level test before they arrive (online). On their first day in class their level is confirmed with the speaking and writing sections of the test.

Our communicative approach encourages students to use English beyond the classroom through a range of opportunities, including activities in the Student Diary within our app, helping them develop confidence in using functional language in real-world contexts.

* See individual campuses for specific timetables.

Curriculum

Students receive a Student Book and access to a Student Diary within our app.

The curriculum is designed to develop students’ General English across a range of relevant and engaging topics.

While a coursebook is used, emphasis is placed on conversation-based tasks through pair and group work.

Vocabulary development, language use, and communication skills are supported through workbooks, classroom activities, and communicative tasks.

Students are encouraged to take an active role in their learning through discussions and opportunities to reflect on their progress.

Our Teachers

Lessons are delivered by qualified English language teachers, supporting students in developing their English language skills.

Teachers are selected for their professionalism, enthusiasm, and ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment.

Teachers are supported by on-campus Academic Management Teams and receive ongoing guidance and CPD workshops during their time with us.

Certificates

We offer six levels of English, from Elementary to Advanced (CEFR A1+–C1+).

At the end of the course, each student is awarded a personalised certificate, which includes their name, campus, dates of study, hours of study, date of issue, and commitment to learning.

FSL-aligned content is integrated into the curriculum, and an additional PDF certificate is issued in recognition of the supervised educational hours completed.

Trinity College London’s Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE)

We offer Trinity College London Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE) at all of our summer courses centres in the UK.

Our Trinity package includes full exam organisation and administration, along with two additional preparation lessons to support students ahead of their exam.

The cost of the Trinity package is £150 per student. This is an optional add-on and is charged separately from course fees for students who wish to take the exam.

Please note that a minimum of 12 students per centre per turn is required for the package to run.

While academic staff can advise on appropriate levels, candidates are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the exam before enrolment. St Andrew’s College Language Schools does not take responsibility for examination results.
