Avery Hill Campus is locatedin Eltham, a historic suburb in Southeast London.

It is a lively, modern campus of the University of Greenwich. It is surrounded by beautiful Avery Hill Park, which has lots of space for outdoor activities and ball games.

Eltham is historically linked to the Tudor family through Eltham Palace, which was a favourite royal residence of Henry VIII and other Tudor kings. The palace was used as a royal home and administrative center during the Tudor period.

The Campus

The Campus

The Avery Hill Campus, Southwood Site, offers a green and peaceful environment.

The campus has excellent teaching, living, and sports facilities, all within a compact layout, so students can easily move between their accommodation, classrooms, and the canteen.

Avery Hill campus has a general shop, a café, and a launderette. There are tennis courts and a large park perfect for touch rugby, football, and rounders.

The Location

The campus is located in southeast London, the capital city of England, which is one of the most famous and multicultural cities in the world. Over 15 million tourists visit London every year.

Around and about

The nearest town is Eltham, which has many shops, cafés, and restaurants. It also has a cinema, a library, and green spaces where you can relax or go for a walk. Eltham is easy to reach from the campus and has a friendly, local atmosphere.

Travel and Transport

Regular public buses run from the campus to the London city centre. There is also a train station in Eltham, which can take you to the heart of London in 30-40 minutes. By car, Avery Hill is about 50 minutes from the London city centre.

All journeys on the student excursion programme will be by private coach.

Accommodation

The Accommodation

The student accommodation is located on campus, approximately 5 minutes from the main campus facilities. The accommodation area is divided into courts named after Henry VIII’s wives: Aragon, Boleyn, Seymour, Cleves, Howard, and Parr.

Students will live in small flats of 5 to 7 people, with free Wi-Fi throughout. We offer 450 en-suite single bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom and a shared kitchen/eating area.

In addition, we have 100 standard single bedrooms available. These rooms share bathroom facilities with 4 to 7 students in the flat, while still enjoying the same shared kitchen and communal living spaces.

Please note that towels are not provided in any of the rooms, so students should bring their own.

Student safety is very important to us. Avery Hill has a 24-hour security presence and CCTV onsite to ensure a safe and supportive living environment.
