The University of Stirling is a fantastic setting in which to study and practise the English language. The University’s wide-open spaces and leafy-green feel provide an ideal setting for studying English; students will never feel enclosed, yet everything is still well-connected. Stirling – one of Scotland’s smaller cities – is best known as the ‘Gateway to the Highlands’. Its historic charm is complimented by its perfect location. With easy access to both Edinburgh and Glasgow (both around 50 minutes away by coach), you have the benefit of Scotland’s main cities nearby, as well as an idyllic setting at the foot of the Highlands.
The campus has acted as the backdrop to major films and television series and is one of the most scenic campuses in the UK, with its own loch and plentiful green spaces. Students benefit from a range of first-class facilities including; large, air-conditioned classrooms; free Wi-Fi access; and some of Scotland’s best sports’ facilities.
The accommodation is situated on campus and has a fantastic range of facilities.
All of the rooms are single bed en-suite and students stay together in small flats with a shared kitchen and sitting areas.
There is also a comfortable communal area where students can relax and can make the most of a pool table, a table football table and watch TV. Wi-Fi access and a laundry room are also available to all of our students in their accommodation.
The safety of our students is always very important. CGC has a 24hr security presence, CCTV and secure access entry systems.
The University of Stirling benefits from great local public transport access, with a 10-minute bus service into the city centre. The campus is also only a few minutes’ walk from the iconic Wallace Monument, which overlooks the campus and students will have a chance to visit.
The other journeys on the student excursion programme will be by private bus, with a scenic drive through the Trossachs National Park to Loch Katrine a particular highlight.
