Academic Programme
Our summer English courses are for young people aged between 11 and 17. You will typically have 15 hours of English lessons per week in a small class of up to 15 students.
We teach 5 levels of English (CEFR A1-C1) and you will sit a level test when you arrive. We want to ensure that you are in the best class for your level.
Your lessons will be taught by qualified English language teachers who are chosen for their enthusiasm and experience in teaching young people English. Their job is to deliver lessons that are challenging, relevant and enjoyable for you, so that you go home with a greater confidence using the English language.
You will:
• Receive a workbook for your English Language classes*
• Practise speaking, reading, listening and writing through interactive group work and pair work
• Build your vocabulary and practise your ‘use of English’ using your workbook, games and class projects.
• Learn in a modern multimedia environment.
• Where possible, our lessons will take place ‘in the real world’ outside of the classroom. This will help to build your confidence with functional everyday language and to learn about UK culture.
*Students will also get a My Campus book, to induct them onto campus and ensure that they are fully informed during their stay.
Excursions & Activities
We have a fully comprehensive excursions and activity programme for you to enjoy learning English in a participative way. You will enjoy
full day and half day excursions to places of natural beauty and interest. You will also have the opportunity to have walks and visits to explore local areas and attractions.
You will be able to get involved in our day activities whatever your interests are; volleyball, basketball, dodgeball, tennis, badminton, rugby, rounders, drama, musical theatre, Zumba, aerobics, yoga, orienteering, nail art, sketching, mask making, jewellery making, conversation workshops, print workshops, dance workshops and French boules.
In the evenings, you will have fun in our discos, karaokes, scavenger hunts, bingos, film nights, blind dates, fancy dress competitions, murder mysteries, ceilidhs, talent shows, highland games and much more!
“The quality of their teaching system and methodology makes their courses very attractive for teachers and students, and the activities they organise are varied and enjoyable. Their staff is the best educational team I have met for this type of summer activities.
I strongly recommend St. Andrew’s College Language Schools to anybody
interested in learning English while enjoying the best of Britain.”
