CEFR A1+ - C1+
Our English language summer vacation courses are for young people aged between 11 and 18.
We can teach 6 levels of English, Elementary - Advanced (CEFR A1+ - C1+).
At the end of the course every student will be awarded a personal certificate. On the certificate will be:
- Student's name
- Campus
- Dates of study
- Commitment to learning
We can offer Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE) from Trinity College London at any of our centres. The Trinity package includes organisation and administration of the exam as well as 2 additional preparation lessons.
While academic staff are able to advise on appropriate levels, it is advisable for candidates to have some knowledge of the exam before enrolment. St Andrew’s College Language Schools do not take responsibility for exam results.
LESSONS
Students will be level tested before they arrive (online) or on the first teaching day.
There are typically 10-12 lessons per week.*
Each lesson is 1 hour, thirty minutes long with a break.*
Classes will have a maximum of 18 students per class and be based in modern multimedia ready classrooms.
Students will receive:
- 1 x St. Andrew’s College Language Schools, Student Book
- 1 x St. Andrew’s College Language Schools, Student Diary
We also encourage, where possible, our lessons to take place in the real world, "outside of the classroom". This helps the students to develop confidence using functional language and learn about the UK and the places they will visit.
PCTO content is integrated into the curriculum and an additional certificate is issued in recognition.
* See individual campuses for specific timetables.

Students will learn General English through current topics of interest to young people.
Although students have a course book, emphasis will be on conversation based tasks, through group work and pair work.
Students can advance their vocabulary and "Use of English" through our workbooks, activities, and class projects.
Students will be active participants in their own learning through discussions, self-assessment and personal learning plans.
